I play a regular shift in the Minto league with a division 3/4 team but am looking to pick up some more ice time. I do find those divisions to be a challenge, but I can hold my own quite well. Comments: I am 36 and have played the last 9 years (forward) with the Carleton Teacher's Hockey League. It is a non-contact, non slap-shot recreational, yet fairly competetie league. Many of the players are former Junior B caliber. I never played that level myself (Midget B) and would consider myself slightly below the middle of the pack as far as ability level. If anything, I'd like to step down a notch or two as the league is getting younger and I am getting older.

I played "AA" competitive hockey in the GTHL in Toronto until I was 18. Since then I've played in A, B and C divisions in various men's leagues. I tend to be able to play up to a high level (I've played on teams with ex-junior guys and NCAA dropouts), but I also won't dominate when playing with less-skilled players. I have a habit of playing to the level of those I play with/against. I'm not much of a scorer, but I can skate, playmake and cover my own end well. In my heydey (about five years ago), I was a faceoff and penalty-killing specialist. I'm happy to play any position, including defense, but my natural position is centre.

I am currently playing in the 14th division on the "Domaine du Marché" team in the Travellers as a defensemen. This is the highest level of hockey I have played. I am an average player with average skills. I have only been playing hockey for 2 years in pick up leagues. This is my first experience in organized hockey. I have no problem playing in higher divisions as long as the team has no problem having a lower level hockey player. I am available for any position. Ultimately I am there to have fun!!!
